When it comes to relationships, marriage and sex, Word of Faith Fellowship members must follow strict and unusual rules — or risk severe punishment, former members say.
Some of the edicts:
— Congregants need permission from leader Jane Whaley and other ministers to get married, and it then can take months — or even a year — before the newlyweds are allowed to have sex.
— No one is allowed to date without permission, and most relationships and marriages are arranged by Whaley and ministers.
— On their wedding night, couples are permitted only a “godly peck on the cheek.” When they get in bed together, they must roll over and go to sleep.
— For all married couples, love-making is limited to 30 minutes, no foreplay is allowed, the lights must be turned off and only the missionary position is sanctioned.
— Couples need permission from church leadership to have children, and leaders dole out condoms to make sure unapproved women don’t get pregnant.
The former followers said couples violating the rules can be publicly rebuked, subjected to violence or forced to separate.

Pope Francis is lashing out at Catholics who live what he called a “double life” by not practicing Christian values. He even suggested that atheists might be better than members of the faithful who don’t practice the tenets of their faith.
According to a transcript posted online by Vatican Radio, the pontiff called it a “scandal” during his morning mass on Thursday:
“Scandal is saying one thing and doing another; it is a double life, a double life. A totally double life: ‘I am very Catholic, I always go to Mass, I belong to this association and that one; but my life is not Christian, I don’t pay my workers a just wage, I exploit people, I am dirty in my business, I launder money…’ A double life.”
The pontiff said “many Christians” were living this double life.
“How many times have we heard ― all of us, around the neighborhood and elsewhere ― ‘but to be a Catholic like that, it’s better to be an atheist,’” he said.

An Italian priest faces defrocking after allegations were made that he organised orgies on church property.
Don Andrea Contin, a priest in Padua, Italy, was accused of always carrying a “briefcase full of vibrators, sex toys, masks and bondage equipment”.
He is also accused of having as many as 30 lovers and taking trips with them to a naturist swingers’ resort in France, despite taking a vow of celibacy.
He is accused of farming out some of his lovers to men on wife-swapping websites, according to The Times.
“He always carried a briefcase full of vibrators, sex toys, masks and bondage equipment,” one of his accusers said in her police statement, according to the Corriere del Veneto.
She also accused Mr Contin of encouraging her to have sexual relations with a horse and beat her in the rectory on two occasions.
Claudio Cipolla, Padua’s bishop, said Mr Contin would lose his role regardless of the outcome of the investigation.
“I am incredulous and pained by the accusations,” Mr Cipolla told a press conference, the Local reported.
“Even if, at the end of this affair, there are no legal consequences, we have a duty by canon law to take disciplinary action.”
The investigations into Mr Contin began in December after three women came forward making complaints.

That should teach him a lesson!

Christopher King, big fan of child porn and drugs
- Christopher King,51, lived and worked at the St. James of Jerusalem Episcopal Church in Long Beach, New York
- A tip led police to obtain a search warrant, and cops raided his home on Friday
- They found five child porn videos, including one that involved a toddler as young as two or three, a felony complaint said
- Raid also uncovered crystal meth, unprescribed Xanax and drug paraphernelia
- He was a youth officer in a church for nearly five years, his LinkedIn profile states
Nassau County police received an tip about King, and obtained a search warrant before raiding his home on Friday evening, officials said.
King had five child pornography videos on his computer, all of which involved boys under the age of 12, with some as young as two or three, the complaint said.
The videos showed the boys performing sex acts on each other, or with adult men, according to the Daily News.
Twelve grams of crystal methamphetamine were also found in both his home and church office, along with drug paraphernalia.
Xanax pills, for which King was not prescribed, were left on top of his bedroom dresser, the complaint stated.
King has been charged with five counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
King was arrested at the church, and held on $100,000 bond after he was arraigned on Saturday.
The church has already fired King, saying they have a ‘zero tolerance policy’ to criminal conduct, a bishop told the Daily News.
According to his LinkedIn profile, King studied theology at Oxford University and worked as a Diocesan Youth Officer for nearly four years.
His LinkedIn profile states that he likes fucking children and doing drugs. That should have been a tip off for the church, but that choice of hobbies is so common among priests that it is often overlooked.
Apparently a lot of people give a shit about this. We don’t, and are perplexed as hell why anyone would.
A nun in Spain has received death threats from angry Catholics after suggesting that Mary likely had sex with husband Joseph – much like any “normal couple” would.
Sister Lucia Caram – a self-described “restless and disturbing” nun on her Twitter profile that boasts more than 183,000 followers – seemingly contradicted Roman Catholic faith by suggesting that the Virgin Mary might not have been celibate after all during a television appearance in Spain on Sunday.
“I think Mary was in love with Joseph and that they were a normal couple – and having sex is a normal thing,” Caram told the Chester in Love Show, according to the Guardian. “It’s hard to believe and hard to take in. We’ve ended up with the rules we’ve invented without getting to the true message.”
Mary was, in fact, a virgin if you don’t count anal.
