Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) says religious believers are called to “ignore” laws that violate their faith.
“In essence, if we are ever ordered by a government authority to personally violate and sin — violate God’s law and sin — if we’re ordered to stop preaching the Gospel, if we’re ordered to perform a same-sex marriage as someone presiding over it, we are called to ignore that,” Rubio said in an interview with CBN on Tuesday.
“So when those two come into conflict, God’s rules always win,” he added.
So, only obey the laws you like. If you don’t like the laws against murder, ignore them. If you don’t like the laws against child abuse, ignore them. And yes, you can justify murder and child abuse (and anything else) with Biblical verses. As a result, everyone interprets the Bible their own way and for their own reasons.
What about non-Christians? Do they also get to choose which laws they obey or is it just those who fit in Rubio’s narrow demographic?
The US would be in chaos if people followed this stupid and illegal advice. Take a look at how well theocratic countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sudan, ISIS-held Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc. are doing.
Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson and other like them should not be elected, they should be jailed for inciting people to break the law.
The US is a nation of laws and will continue to be unless one of these fundamentalist self-righteous wankers wins the election,

Gunmen stormed a Malian hotel as guests gathered for breakfast, bypassing gate security by using a car with fake diplomatic plates, a witness said.
Once inside, attackers hollered, “Allahu akbar,” guns blazing, employee Tamba Couye said.
They opened fire on tables, people, “anything that moved,” he said.
By the time the siege ended, bodies were scattered across the floors of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako. At least 21 people were killed in the attack on Friday morning, the U.N. said.
Dozens were trapped for hours before Malian and U.N. security forces surrounded the hotel and rushed in.
Couye was at the restaurant when attackers barged in, he said.
“They started firing at the tables,” he said. “They walked through the hotel door and started to shoot at everybody. Then they returned to the restaurant and closed its doors.”
He hurriedly evacuated employees through an exit door as chaos erupted.
“One of the attackers was yelling “Allahu akbar!,” he said.
“These people started shooting. They were shooting at everybody without asking a single question. They were shooting at anything that moved.”
Zion Apostolic Church (ZAC)’s Bishop Peter Makamba was arrested recently and is facing charges of raping his maid.
Makamba appeared before Resident Magistrate Bishard Chineka and was released in as yet unclear circumstances.
Police Spokesperson, Charity Mazula confirmed the arrest of the bishop but said his release by the Magistrate is something beyond the Police.
Sources close to the matter revealed that Makamba who is the bishop for ZAC popularly known as Zion retambo allegedly raped a woman who was working for him as a maid. The woman’s name is withheld to protect her.
Makamba was picked at his home in Marecha under chief Negovanhu and had to spend the weekend in the Police holding cells at Bikita Police station. It is alleged that Makamba during the dates unknown to the court but which span between 2005 and 2009 raped the woman who worked for him as a maid.
The woman decided to lay charges against him after realizing that he could be prosecuted like any other person when she read about Robert Martin Gumbura the leader of the RMG End Time Messages who was recently incarcerated for 40 years over rape crimes committed a few years ago.
However, Makamba briefly appeared before Magistrate Chineka and was declared a free man much to the chagrin of the woman’s husband, who later charged at him and assaulted him accusing him of bribing the Magistrate saying he was supposed to be released after applying for bail from the High Court.
Makamba has since filed assault charges against the man.

Henry County Sheriff’s investigators recently arrested a church pastor and charged him with molesting a 15-year-old female church member.
Henry County Sheriff William Maddox said sheriff’s investigators arrested Camerius “Minister Mills” Mills, 29, of Edison, Georgia, and charged him with three felony counts of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, three felony counts of second-degree rape and a single felony count of second-degree sodomy.
Sheriff’s Investigator Keith Cauthen, who arrested Mills, said the sheriff’s office launched an investigation after officials with the Henry County Department of Human Resources reported the offense to them on Oct. 27. He said officials with the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center assisted in the investigation by helping interview the victim.
“He was a pastor and he had befriended this young lady in his congregation,” Cauthen said. “He picked her up under the pretenses on teaching her the piano.”
Cauthen said Mills first met the victim when she started attending the church where Mills served as pastor, St. Paul Baptist, in November 2014. But Cauthen said the offenses didn’t start occurring until February of this year. The sheriff’s investigation showed the victim only had one piano lesson. Mills has been the church’s pastor for three years.
“I questioned him, and he eventually admitted to everything,” Cauthen said. “He knew better, he was a pastor. He befriended her and he took advantage of her. With the Henry County Sheriff’s Office our goal is to protect the citizens, and we’re going to make sure he does not prey on anyone else again.”
Court records show investigators charged Mills with traveling from Georgia to Henry County for the purpose of unlawful sex acts with the female victim from Abbeville between March 1 and August.
Maddox said there could be more, similar charges filed in the ongoing investigation. He said there could also be pending felony federal charges as investigators believe at least one offense occurred on federal property.
Mills faces 10 to 99 years or life in prison if convicted of the each of the class A felony crimes of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, and two to 20 years if convicted of each of the class B felony rape and sodomy charges.
Mills had his first appearance in court Thursday, during which attorney Cada Carter was appointed to represent him.
He remained held at the Henry County Jail on Friday on bail totaling $455,000.
Paris has been attacked. We are sad, we are angry, and we are impotent in the face of these atrocities.
Our outrage tells us that we must do something. Laying flowers is something, therefore we must do it. Praying is something, therefore we must do it. We stand in mute tribute for sixty long seconds and congratulate ourselves on our sensitivity and respect. In fact, with the exception of giving blood, we do only those things which are guaranteed to accomplish nothing.
Why is this?
After attacks like this latest one in Paris, we look in the mirror and proudly state that we are strong, that we will overcome this threat, that we are good.
In fact, we are weak and stupid to let these horrors continue, and delusional to think that symbolic actions will help. Sure, these actions make us feel better, but is that really the goal?
One online ‘news’ site posted an article yesterday about what we should be telling our children, and by extension ourselves, about the terrorist attacks in Paris (or anywhere else) and mindless violence in general. We should tell them that they are safe (they are not). We should tell them that the adult world is watching over them (it is not). We should tell them there are no monsters (there are).
Yes, there are monsters in the world. Today the most obvious monsters are Islamic extremists. Not very long ago, during my own lifetime in fact, it was the Western powers who were the monsters and terrorists. We politically raped the Middle East and North Africa and stole their oil. We gave a large portion of the Middle East to one corrupt family and named the country after them – Saudi Arabia. This would be like calling the USA ‘Bush America’ or ‘Clinton America’.
No one should forget that it was Saudis, not Afghans or Iraqis, who attacked New York on September 11, 2001 and who currently fund ISIS.
In fairness, no one should forget what the British, French and Americans did in the Middle East and North Africa in the 1940s and 1950s. The Muslims rightly call these atrocities ‘crusades’, hearkening back to the Christian invasions of the Middle East from the 11th through the 13th Centuries. There was, without doubt, an overt religious motivation to the first crusades and a religious undercurrent to the later terrorism by the Western powers.
Another article lauded the fact that the world was ‘lighting up the internet with support for Muslims’. The Muslims, like all religious groups, believe absurdities and ‘if you can get people to believe absurdities, you can get them to commit atrocities’. It would take a only a small change in the absurdities the mainstream Muslims believe to turn them into terrorists. This is also true of Jews and Christians. We should neither support nor respect any religions. They are all, as Bill Maher aptly said, stupid and dangerous. It’s time for us to wake up to this fact.
So now, in reaction to religious slaughter. we post requests for prayers, we create hashtag campaigns, we re-affirm our affection for our families and friends and then wait patiently for the next outrage so that we can repeat these rituals rather than actually doing anything about the problem. We have ritualized and institutionalized the art of doing nothing in response to terrorism.
Behind all the atrocities lurks religion, and nothing will do more towards advancing civilization and making us safe than removing it completely from human discourse. If you want peace, stop supporting religion.

Belief in devils and demons supplies a ready-made excuse for any depraved act and allows monsters to avoid feeling responsible for their actions. There are no devils, there are no demons. We are each responsible for what we do and what we don’t do.
CHIPINGE-A Chimanimani man went berserk last month, killing a three-month-old child by striking the tot with an iron bar ill after he had also battered the mother, leaving her for dead.
Petros Kunyongana, 20, of Chibuwe Village, under Chief Mutambara, told a local court that he was possessed by evil spirits when the committed the offense.
He alleged that his parents killed a person during the liberation struggle and that the avenging spirit was tormenting their family.
Kunyongana was not asked to plead when he appeared before Chipinge magistrate, Sharon Chipanga Wednesday facing murder and attempted murder charges.
He was advised to apply for bail application to the High Court.
Prosecutors said horrific attack occurred on October 22, around 2000 hours, when Memory Banga retired to bed but forgot to lock her bedroom door.
Thirty minutes later, Kanyongana also went to sleep in his bedroom in the same house.
Court head that at around 0300 hours during the night, Kanyongana woke up and took an iron bar that was under his bed and went into Banga`s bedroom.
He hit Banga several times in the head with the bar until she fell unconscious, having sustained serious head injuries.
Kanyongana then attacked the child several times in the head, killing the tot on spot.
Prosecutors said he took the minor’s corpse and hid it in a hill about a kilometre away from the scene to conceal the offence.
He left the iron bar which he used to commit the offence in his room and fled.
Court was told that Banga was later referred to Birchenough Bridge Hospital where she was admitted and still receiving treatment.
Colorado Pastor Suggests That Parents Drown Their Children Rather Than Letting Them Read ‘Harry Potter’
November 10, 2015
Pastor Kevin Swanson is no Harry Potter fan. In fact, Swanson is so opposed to J.K. Rowling’s iconic series, he’d prefer that parents would drown their children instead of allowing them to read it.
Swanson, who is a pastor at the Reformation Church of Elizabeth, Colorado and also hosts a weekly radio show, blasted Harry Potter and “How to Train Your Dragon” in a convoluted speech at the National Religious Liberties Conference on Nov. 7, Right Wing Watch reported. His issue with Potter, it seems, stemmed from Rowling’s 2007 revelation that she always thought of Dumbledore the wizard as a gay man.
“America, repent that Dumbledore emerged as a homosexual mentor for Harry Potter, that Hiccup’s mentor in ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ emerged as a homosexual himself in order that history might repeat itself one more time,” Swanson said.
The pastor went on to suggest that it would be better “that a millstone be hanged around [childrens’] neck[s] and they be drowned at the bottom of the sea …”

Former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and bat-shit-crazy woman has an urgent message for Christians everywhere: convert as many people as possible, especially Jews, because Jesus is “coming soon.”
“We recognize the shortness of the hour,” she said in an interview with right-wing radio host Tony Perkins last week. “That’s why we as a remnant want to be faithful in these days and do what it is that the Holy Spirit is speaking to each one of us, to be faithful in the Kingdom and to help bring in as many as we can — even among the Jews — share Jesus Christ with everyone that we possibly can because, again, he’s coming soon.”
Bachmann and Perkins, president of the conservative group Family Research Council, taped the interview during their tour of Israel. She shared what she learned from the trip, including her belief that increasing violence in the region suggests that the second coming of Christ is imminent.
“This week really was about biblical prophecy in many ways,” she said. “And we’re seeing as events are speeding up, events are speeding up so quickly right now, and we see how relevant the Bible is, and we’re reading our newspaper, at the same time we’re learning about these biblical events, and it’s literally day by day by day, we’re seeing the fulfillment of scripture right in front of our eyes, even while we’re on the ground.”
She says Jesus is coming because there is violence in the Middle East. Like this is something new.
